Rollie Pollie

So, little birdie has started rolling over this week and seems very proud of herself!

She's obviously enjoying it too. She gets a big smile on her face as soon as she rolls onto her belly, which is pretty much every time I put her down on her back. I even went into her room after a nap the other day to find her on her belly at the top of her cot. She was very proud indeed.

At first I was as excited as she was about her newest skill but now I'm wishing she'd stop growing up so fast. It seems like she'll be crawling around the place in no time, and I'm so not ready for that!

Bolly&bear

How beautiful are these prints for children's rooms and nurseries from Bolly & Bear?

All prints are A3 size, available in a choice if colours and only $29.95. There are other designs available and they also make beautiful bed linen and accessories and can make custom designs for you too!

I had seen the 'you are my sunshine' when looking for nursery inspiration when pregnant and thought it was adorable. The other two designs almost made me cry they were so beautiful! I've never been into the 'dance like no ones watching' poem but I love their addition of 'behave like mums watching' and 'cuddle me like you'll never grow up'. And don't get me started on the 'strength of my love' poem!

I wonder if it would be a bit much if I had all three in little birdies room?

Back to work...for one day

So, I went back to work on friday. My sister and I own two boutiques in Sydney called Cauchois & Calo and our casual couldn't work so i did. I was obviously hesitant to leave little birdie but i had a lovely day. My parents live around the corner from the shop so looked after her for the first time. She was apparently an angel but she refused a bottle the WHOLE day so mum had to resort to giving her my milk in a cup!

I've always been lucky to love my job and although my priorities have changed since becoming a mum this hasn't changed. I had such a nice day catching up with my customers (and showing off photo's of my little birdie) and it didn't hurt that we have had amazing stock delivered in the last few weeks so i was able to come home with some beautiful new outfits which i thought i'd share.

Hairspiration

I am in desperate need of a haircut!

I've always had long hair but I'm pretty sure this is the longest it's ever been. I actually tucked it into my jeans the other day by accident...

I've been trying to find some hairspiration on the net as I am finally cutting it next week but all I've found are these images of girls with beautiful long hair (and the cute illustration)

Baby+blanket+berry+bounce

There are a few things I have bought for my little birdie lately that I couldn't live without!

Firstly, the Miracle Blanket.

My sister-in-law actually gave me this when I was pregnant but I had no idea how to use it so it ended up putting it in the too hard basket. Then one night while looking at wraps on the net I stumbled upon a picture of it and finally knew how it was supposed to be used. It has flaps on the inside that wrap around the arms keeping them secure and then the outer layer wraps around 2 or 3 times making it virtually impossible for baby to come unwrapped. I promptly retrieved it from the tallboy and started using it. Birdie is now sleeping through most nights and is as snug as a bug in a rug!

Second is the Raz-berry teether.

Little birdie started teething a few weeks ago and of all the different teethers I've tried her with, the only thing she wanted to chew on was my or my husbands fingers. That was until today when I bought her this.

She spent the whole afternoon happily chomping on it much to my delight. And it doesn't hurt that it is adorable too!

My final purchase that I and birdie are very happy with is her new (second hand) jolly jumper. After trying out her cousins and looking adorable while thoroughly enjoying herself I decided we needed a jolly jumper. The only problem was that the basic jolly jumper is used in a door way and attaches to a doorframe, which we do not have. This meant we needed to buy the jumper and stand which is at least $119. I managed to find one in perfect condition on eBay for considerably less than that and birdie has been having a ball with it ever since. Although she obviously enjoyed herself a little too much the first time she used it as she managed to wet herself with excitement. (Really it was my fault for not making sure her nappy was sitting straight.)

Well hello there

I haven't decided exactly what this blog will be yet but I figure as a new mum I spend plenty of time finding pretty things on the net (on my iPhone) while feeding my little birdie that I may as well share it.

I'm thinking this blog will be filled with beautiful fashion, homewares, baby things and a bit of music too. Basically just a mish mash of everything that I'm loving right now. I hope you enjoy it!
